From Provence to the Factory: A Chat with Gustav Ovland

Gustav Ovland, known for his Husdrömmar renovation of the Starch Factory, shares his love for vintage finds, garden projects, and adventures with his dogs, Boris and Lillebror. Whether exploring Skåne’s hidden gems or strolling through Provence, Gustav blends functionality and style with Hunter Boots.

1.Hi Gustav! How are you today, and what’s been keeping you busy lately?

Hi, Feeling great and breathing slowly. I did spend a month in Provence drinking wine, eating cheese and looking for vintage objects to buy.

2. Many recognize you from Husdrömmar and your ambitious renovation of the Starch Factory. Are there any other renovation projects on the horizon?

Always a few projects going on at the factory, the garage and entrance is a big one for me right now.

3.What advice would you give to someone about to embark on their own renovation dream?

Make sure you have time to be a part of it and give you the time to set all the details. don't rush it.

4. How do Hunter Boots fit into your daily life, both in terms of functionality and style?

I love the outdoor lifestyle, always projects in the garden or taking a walk with dogs at the beach or in the forest.

5. Do you have any favorite local spots or hidden gems nearby that you enjoy exploring?

The factory is located in Skåne close to Åhus/ Yngsjö with great beaches. But my favorite is Forsakar which is an old beech tree forest with a small waterfall, perfect for a rainy day.

6. Lastly, what’s it like sharing your life with Boris and Lillebror? Any memorable adventures or routines you couldn’t live without?

The best company, I love to have animals around me and try to bring them wherever I go. I do have a house in France that we often go to, there are so many great spots and cities to visit both in Provence and on the way.
